Is my credit score effected when landlords run my credit report through
When landlords run a Credit Check on a tenant through the Tenant Screening, the credit score for the tenant is not affected. This is because Credit checks are considered a soft credit check, which do not affect the credit score as an inquiry. Soft credit checks are recorded in the person?s credit history, but it is only visible to them and no one else. It will have no negative effect on the tenant. Credit reports provide a Credit score from Transunion, a Leasing recommendation, as well as a Criminal Background check. Have you had any experiences on running credit reports on tenants that you would like to share or if you were a tenant, which had a credit report run on, feel free to share your thoughts?
