My wife and I are planning an extended trip to Europe and Asia for the winter, so were listing our apartment for a short term rental.

TL,DR : rent is $2500 a month, tenants responsible for heating (gas). Water and electricity (solar panels) included. Location : Eastman St in Dorchester, nearby Dorchester brewery and walking distance to South Bay plaza.
Commuters: about a ~15 min walk to both Andrew or JFK/UMass red line. Bus connections on Columbia rd steps away. Pets are ok.
Move in : Ideally, beginning of January (we have tickets for Europe on Jan 4th but plus/minus few days for move in is acceptable). Up to 3 months sublease, minimum of 1 month.

Extended : lived in this house from 2014 to 2021 on the second floor with roommates. A good friend of mine and former roommate still lives upstairs. Quiet, easy going working professionals in their late 20s/early 30s.
Met my wife, moved out for a few years, landlord bought a new house and moved to NH and offered us the first floor where he lived while I was a tenant. Weve been here since April 26 and not planning on moving out unless we buy our own place. The house is in great shape, our landlord did most of the renovation with his dad (construction worker) throughout the years, both on first and second floor. New kitchen, appliances, cabinets, house siding, backyard work, roof etc.
Nicest people ever, we became friends over the years and regularly organize dinner/bbq/hangout with his family. Calls and checks on us every few weeks in case something needs to be repaired or done around the house, or sometimes just for a random chat. Takes great care of his property.

Apartment will come furnished as seen in the pictures, minus the electronics (TV, speakers, turntables) which will be stored away.

Small but functional gym in the basement. Washer and dryer in basement at no additional cost as well.
Private gated driveway.

You will be required to sign a short term lease contract and the payments will be made directly to our landlord. No additional move in fees other than rent paid in advance.
