Furnished but if you are renting it for the year and dont wish to be furnished, then I will move out my stuff.

Walk to Central Park and the lake at 86 Street and the famous Met museums.

You can also walk to the river in less than 10 minutes. Frequent buses will take you there.

You are in midtown, Carnegie Hall and time square in 5 minutes on the subway trains 4 and 5 and Union square is an 8 minute ride.

Very safe but still always be aware of your surroundings in a big city like NY.
