The Casa dos Bicos is an ecological root house, built in mud, with natural features that preserve cool in summer and comfortable in winter. The construction of the house is in tune with local resources, pressed land, a typical Alentejo building.
The Casa dos Bicos seeks to be self-sustaining and self-sufficient, using natural resources for energy production through solar panels to generate electricity and provide hot water. In addition, it promotes recycling to reduce pollution and carbon footprint, minimizing environmental impact, and began to recover the antique furniture which in turn also promotes the story of a Alentejo.
The single storey house, has 2 bedrooms with a typically Alentejo decoration and a bathroom, it is carefully restored original furniture.
