Tenant Review: I was originally told my deposit included the security and cleaning fees necessary to rent this property. The landlord eventually told me different and added on an additional fee. There was a misunderstanding of what exactly my deposit as the landlord told me one thing, and eventually said another thing. This landlord should make it clear what is included in the deposit such as security and cleaning fees. Future users should be aware and make sure it is stated before making their payment and stopping their search elsewhere. It would make this easier if this was stated in an agreement/contract.
Landlord response: This tenant and I were having difficulty as they had numerous demands such as furniture change when it is already provided, rates which change by season and so on which I felt were unreasonable. Also this individual did not use their real name and other information after dozens of phone calls, numerous emails and being denied. Deposits and cleaning fees differ per property. We also do not hold locations without a deposit in. We instruct you to do this to guarantee to our tenants that it is available for you. We appreciate all of our tenants and want to ensure the best experience for them. I feel I was clear with what I have stated from the beginning as other individuals do not have this issue. I am a responsible landlord and feel if necessary I will break down the information further for future potential tenants.
