Spacious, beautiful craftsman house with lush garden

I have 1 room for rent in a 3 bedroom house on the Oakland Emeryville border on Market Street between MacArthur and 37th. The room for rent is an unfurnished master bedroom which is about 11x11 at $1150. Shared bathroom and shared utilities. It can easily fit a queen sized bed, desk and large comfy chair. The room gets tons of light all day and in the winter, is the warmest room in the house. It comes with a queen sized bed and frame if you need one or will be removed if you have your own.

Loir is a mid 40’s woman who likes to laugh, is impeccable with her word and shows up on time. My communication style is pretty much summed up like this; say what you mean, mean what you say and dont say it mean. I’m an office worker, enjoy sewing recycled fashion, cooking healthy meals and doing crafts. I lead a very full, rich life and am delighted to make time to catch up with my roommates.

Tim is in his late 40’s. He is easy going, has positive energy, is warm and welcoming. He works in mental health with his practice in San Francisco several times a week.

Good candidates would be those who enjoy keeping common spaces clean, don’t have a lot of furniture and lead a healthy lifestyle. I’d like to live in a house where roommates treat and consider each other as friends. Occasional shared meals are a plus. The garden is terrific, so someone who wants to plant things would be a great fit. All the foliage grows like crazy. Let me know what your interests are and how you’d like to contribute to the household.

The house is roughly 100 years old, built in the Craftsman style with high ceilings, pocket doors, hardwood floors throughout, centralized heating, washer dryer, dish washer and garbage disposal. The entire house gets amazing light all day and always has a breeze flowing through. It almost never gets hot in the summer and is always cozy in the winter. There is a fenced in back yard, raised garden beds and a small clean shed with a lot of storage. Neighbors on both sides are super nice.

The neighborhood is very quiet at night with a minimal amount of noise during the day. I’ve lived here for about 6 years and have enjoyed meeting lots of neighbors who live between the house and the Bart. I’ve walked to and from the Bart in all hours and have never felt unsafe or had a negative interaction of any kind. It’s the kind of place where people say hello and smile at each other. It’s 12-minute walk from the MacArthur BART. There’s plenty of street parking with once a month street cleaning. The house is also in walking distance to the Arbor café, Arizmendi, Miyozen sushi, Pac-and-Save and Lane Splitters pizza. You really don’t ever have to get in a car if you don’t want to.

Move in is first month’s rent, last month’s rent and 1/2 month’s rent as deposit. No pets, no couples, no tobacco, 420 friendly.
