Hudson Heights is high on the list of desired neighborhoods in New York City. It is a great family neighborhood, even though its tree lined streets are only twenty minutes or less from midtown Manhattan The A express train is one and a half blocks away - it is neatly tucked away from the hubbub of the city. Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, one of the nations finest, is nearby. Hudson Heights also has the largest outdoor dog run in New York City. Franks Market, along the lines of the famous Zabars, is one of the citys finest gourmet markets. Fort Tryon Park/The Cloister Museum (part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art) and their spectacular gardens are just two long blocks from the apartment. Built in 1920, the building is just east of the Hudson River, and you will enjoy dramatic sunsets after dining in any of the fine neighborhood restaurants. The local diner, upscale coffee shop and takeout restaurants are also standouts. Just up the block is Bennett Park where you can meet, greet, and feed squirrels, or just sit on a bench and enjoy the view while watching kids playing in the playground. One hundred and eighty-seventh Street has two large groceries, a bank, a hairdresser, a pharmacy and, of course, a pizzeria. Mother Cabrini School, Hebrew Tabernacle Synagogue, and Lutheran Church/Cornerstone Center have many community offerings, with daily meditation groups and educational classes. The superintendent of the building, one of the most sought after on Pinehurst Avenue, is friendly, helpful and highly skilled at his craft. The apartment has excellent lighting.
