Kurunegala, Ibbagamua, a beautiful old house that has undergone extensive refurbishment is available to let on a room only basis. Would be ideal for people who are looking for a stop-over for a few nights or for people who are looking for a tranquil place to write, paint, sketch, meditate, practice yoga, read, bird watch, hike, get in touch with nature, swim, sunbathe or just relax and escape the rat race for a long or short period of time. The house is situated a few miles north east of Kurunegala in Ibbagamua and is surrounded by paddy fields with views of distant mountains and Bathalagoda lake is a two minute walk from the property. The room offered is a very large studio type open room which occupies the entire top floor of the house with wooden floors, a covered roof and open walls with a half-wall and railings to all four sides that would be suitable for groups of around 4 to 10 people who would like to use it as an open dormitory, an artists studio, photography studio, yoga and meditation courses for groups of up to 10 people. There are an additional two ensuite bedrooms which could sleep a further 5/6 people too which are available to rent separately. There is also a communal sitting room, dining room, large open varandah and a three acre garden. Linen and towels supplied. Bathalagoda Lake (see pic) and a small stream are few minutes walk from the house in which you are able to swim. Rent is given in USD per person per night for a group of at least 4 people inclusive of breakfast, lunch & dinner. There is 24 hour internet access. A car with or without a driver is available for hire. Airport, bus and railway station pick ups are also available. Guests should note that there are tame outdoor dogs, guinea foul, ducks, geese and hens on the land. Would suit animal lovers. Children are welcome and extra beds can be supplied to accommodate them.
