The landlord and I made a verbal agreement that I would rent the unit for one month, and that we would meet at the apartment on April 25 at 7:30 p.m. Based on this I purchased a plane ticket and traveled to D.C. Unfortunately he then refused to meet meet me, because he had to "go to work." I was forced to stay at a hotel that evening. The next morning be agreed to meet me at 4:30 p.m., and discount the rent to compensate me for the hotel cost. Two hours later he called me, said the unit was "no longer available," and hung up. Further attempts to contact him were unsuccessful. I was forced to immediately find housing, which is never ideal. This individual is clearly unprofessional and dishonest, and anyone searching for a rental unit in the D.C. area would be advised to avoid him.
