West End Ave @ 106th Street Bright sunny rooms, pre-war apartment with high ceilings looking over the season changes of the gardens of Straus Park. One bedroom with two twin day beds is available in a two bedroom apartment. Common area consists of one bathroom, a large kitchen with sitting area. It’s not fancy, but it’s cute!!! “A place of curiosities” as one visitor described it. The neighborhood is very safe. The 12-story building houses families, professionals, teachers and students. The walls are really thick (can’t hear much other than piano practice and an opera singer that does his scales everyday. Other than that there is the sound of the city, which isn’t bad, by NYC standards.) There is no doorman. General description: -Sunny, large windows overlooking beautiful Strauss Park, the statue and charming fountain of “Memory” commemorating Ida and Isador Strauss who were lost when the Titanic went down. Pre-War building with spacious rooms and high ceilings, located on 106th Street and West End Avenue. -Family oriented furnishings and décor: 2 twin day beds that become comfortable twin beds. Well kept with internet access, TV, cable can be switched on. -Eat-in kitchen with table that seats four, microwave, stove, refrigerator, coffee-maker, dishes, etc. – no dishwasher except yourself. -Laundry room in basement, dry cleaners one block away -One-block from Broadway and major bus lines #123 subway trains are a 3-minute walk at 103rd and B’way. Taxis are easy to get most of the time (not so much in morning rush hours, but not too bad. The neighbor hood is full of professionals heading toward midtown) -One block west to Riverside Park, 4 blocks east to Central Park - great grocery stores within a few blocks: Garden of Eden 107thB’way Westside Market and D’Agastino’s 110thB’way Creative Health Food 108thB’way -great restaurants: Henry’s 105thB’way – my favorite Indian, Thai, American Diners and Japanese places -bakerycoffee: Silver Moon Bakery Garden of Eden 107thB’way A little about me: I have my own room in the apartment and I keep it locked when I’m out of town (just for my own peace of mind). I am gone all day and usually come home late. The price is $1500.00 a month with a one month deposit.
