Somerset County is one of the counties in New Jersey is in U.S. state. In the year 2010, the population of Somerset County is 323,444. Somerset County is the portion of New York metropolitan area and Somerset County is the county seat of Somerville. The per capita income Somerset County is the ninth-richest county in the United States and the highest in New Jersey, Bureau of Economic Analysis, as of the year 2009, all 3,113 counties in the United States the Somerset county ranked 11th has the highest per capita income and in the United States, in the terms of the median income for the county ranks eighth. In the year 1688 may 14th from portions of Middlesex County Somerset County was Formed. Somerset County is at the hub of Central New Jersey.

      Somerset County Recreation, Culture and Attractions
There are number of parks including the Lord Stirling Park, Colonial Park, Washington Valley Park, the Sour land Mountain Preserve, and the newest park in development called Raritan River Greenway are the Somerset County beautiful county parks. The southeastern part of Somerset County in Franklin Township also comprises the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park, which offers hiking, biking and boating.

The County Route 512, County Route 514, County Route 518, County Route 523, County Route 525, County Route 527, County Route 529, County Route 531 and County Route 533 pass through the main county roads of Somerset County. Two state routes that pass through Somerset County are Route 27and Route 28.U.S. Routes are U.S. Route 22, U.S. Route 202 and U.S. Route 206 and Interstate 78 and Interstate 287 are the two interstates that pass through Somerset County.

      Somerset County Government
Somerset County government is maintained by a Board of Chosen Freeholders. The board consists of five members elected to three-year terms on a staggered basis and Freeholders elect from among themselves a Director who conducts their meetings. County government manages the daily operations of Freeholders to follow a full-time county administrator.

      Somerset County Geography
The county consist total area of 304.86 square miles, of which 301.81 square miles is of land and 3.04 square miles is of water. The lowest point is just above sea level is on the Raritan River at the Middlesex County line and the high point is on Mine Mountain in Bernardsville, at nearly 860 feet above sea level.
