Bergen County Information
Bergen County is heavily populated county of the state of New Jersey in United States. As per United States Census the population of Bergen County was 905,116 in 2010. In terms of per-capita income Bergen County was the highest-income counties in the United States in 2009 the County ranked 16th in terms of income, although hosting a park system totaling approximately 9,000 acres. The eastern division the county shall begin at Constable's Hook. The original boundaries have reduced by the formation of Hudson Co., in 1840, and Passaic Co., in 1837. Now bounded E. by Hudson river, S. by Passaic and Hudson counties, N. by Rockland Co., (New York,) and W. by Passaic co. it is mountainous, and on the E. the lofty trap-ridge, called as "Palisades," extends the total width of the county; bordering on Hudson river. The soil particularly in the valleys productive in early- summer apples, strawberries, vegetables ECT.., In the valleys of the Hackensack and Saddle rivers, and on the neighboring hills, are many small and gorgeous farms, with neat cottages. The county is divided into the 7 townships excepting Lodi and Washington, were incorporated in 1798 they are Franklin, Harrington, New Barbadoes, Washington, Hackensack, Lodi, Saddle River.

Bergen County Education
The capital of Bergen County is main center of education in New Jersey. The Bergen County's development is played major role on education. World Report of Bergen County Academies public is high school in Hackensack one of the best school in United States, is recognized by U.S. News. Based on 2011 Newsweek statistics, Bergen County Academies students registered an average SAT score of 2100, the second one is any U.S. high school, Newsweek BCA ranked 23rd nationally and second in New Jersey. Bloomberg Businessweek cites Bergen County Academies like New Jersey's best high school. The ETTC, a training center for educators; and BELS, an electronic library for schools by the district operates BergenNet, a leading ISP provider. of Bergen County provide Special Services that is cost-effective, regionalized programs and services to a population with disabilities adult from age three.

Bergen County History
The Bergen County was settled by Native American people, mostly they are the Lenape groups of the Tappan, Hackensack and Rumachenanck. Now the counties of Bergen and Hudson were part of New Netherland, on the 17th century North American colonial province of the Dutch Republic. By August 27th, 1664 the Second Anglo-Dutch War through at the New Amsterdam capitulated to the English Navy. After the war New Jersey Province was established in 1674. The beginning of the name of Bergen County is a matter of deliberation. It is whispered that the County is named for one of the first settlements, Bergen, in the place of current day Hudson County. Still, the source of the name of the settlement is under wide deliberation. Some causes attribute the name to Bergen, Norway, while others feature it to Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands. In the year of 1710, Hackensack was chosen as the county seat. The oldest histories of the Bergen County Board of Freeholders and Justices are dated on May 19, 1715. In November, 1776 the Battle of Fort Lee took place as part of the Continental Army's efforts to keep British armies from sailing up the Hudson River. In the year of 1852 the county was began to Erie Railroad. It is managed by major rail services from Jersey City on the Hudson River to points north and west via leased right-of-way in the county. In 1986 the county's government form was changed. In its place of nine freeholders, voters selected a County Executive and seven freeholders. Now the county had the fourth-highest norm property tax of any county in the nation at $6,846, the 2nd highest in New Jersey overdue Hunterdon. Currently the county is home to number of tourist attractions, it is the major sector of Bergen's economy.

Bergen County Transportation
The county has a well-developed transportation network system. Public transportation system is provided by buses, rails, and airport. The one of the world busiest traffic intersection Routes are 4 and 17 in Paramus. The world's busiest motor vehicle bridge is The George Washington Bridge, connecting Fort Lee in Bergen County across the Hudson River to the Upper Manhattan section of New York City. From New Jersey Transit three train services are available they are the Pascack Valley Line, the Bergen County Line and the Erie Main Line. The bus services from New Jersey Transit and private companies along with Coach USA, DeCamp Bus Lines, Academy Bus Lines, Red and Tan Lines. The county has one airport Teterboro Airport in Teterboro, which is maintained by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Bergen County Government
Since 1986 Bergen government has a County Executive form. The county government of County Executive handles the day-to-day operations, appointing the department heads and maintaining the activities of all departments and divisions. In a staggered basis seven Freeholders are elected to three-year terms in office, The Board of Freeholders acts as a lawmaking body giving advice and concur to the actions of the County Executive. The Republicans had only 2 Freeholders and 1 Constitutional Officer in 2010. The Democrats have only had 2 Freeholders and 1 Constitutional Officer in 2011. The Bergen County court system corresponds of a number of municipal courts administrating traffic court and other minor matters, plus the Bergen County Superior Court which administrates the more serious offenses. The county has 58 departments, which were maintaining prior to the charter change, were reduced to eight, without eliminating any services to county residents. The main departments are The Department of Administration and Finance, The Department of Health Services, The Department of Human Services, The Department of Law, The Department of Public Safety, The Department of Public Works, The Department of Parks, The Department of Planning and Economic Development.

According to the Koppen climate classification the Bergen County at the edge of the humid subtropical climate zone because it's coldest month January. Bergen County has a temperately sunny climate, averaging between 2,400 and 2,800 hours of sunshine each year.
