Wakefield History
Wakefield is a town of Middlesex County, Massachusetts in United States. It was first established in 1638 as Lynn Village. Wakefield formally divided from Lynn and united as Reading in 1644 once the first church and corn mill were recognized. It was built on the Mill River on Water St and far along small saw mills were built on the Mill River and the Saugus River. In 1812 the Old or South Parish of Reading divided from Reading and was formally combined as South Reading. At the time it was meant South Redding, not South Reading. This town railroad was projected and built in 1844 amongst Wilmington and Boston. The Smith and Anthony Stove Company was founded the Boston and Maine foundry in 1854. In the year of 1851 the Boston Ice Company happening cut and shipped ice from Lake Quannapowitt. Cyrus Wakefield provided land and money for a New Town Hall and in thanks the town voted to modification its name from South Reading to Wakefield in the year of 1868. Wakefield's first weekly newspaper was founded in 1858. Wakefield is invented of several parts with the Westside, Montrose and Greenwood. The Wakefield's oldest and largest constructor of flying exemplary airplane toys in the world, Paul K. Guillow, Inc. is placed in Wakefield. The company is mostly important for its general line of balsa wood model airplane kits. Boston Technology combined in 1997 with Comverse Technology, a digital telecommunications equipment manufacturer, who advanced accepted the headquarters building. This building was traded to the Beal Company and was home to Boston Technology Inc. which created and manufactured commercial voice mail systems that functioned on computer systems. The northeastern part of Wakefield has amusement park, Pleasure Island, billed as "The Disneyland of the Northeast," but the park was locked in 1969 later only ten years of process.

On the Haverhill an MBTA Commuter Rail station is situated, next to the center of town Reading Line is positioned and as well in the Greenwood segment a subsequent station is located.
