Revere History
The Native Americans were the earliest to settle in the city of Revere. They were recognized as the Rumney Marsh Indians and were Pawtucket Tribe. The Indians were devastated by the battle and outbreak. The city was in fight for several years with the adjacent Taratines, existing east of Penobscott. In the year 1616 the city was feared by a disease. In the year 1614 Rumney Marsh was initially explored by White men. The primary Indian deed in 1685 was signed in Revere. Boston seized Rumney Marsh on September 25, 1634. In that period Revere was the Town Center of Boston. At Rumney Marsh in the year 1775 Revere functioned in the American Revolution as the location of the initial naval combat. The Revere was integrated as a city in the year 1915.
