After 16th century the Medici ruled Florence and Tuscany successfully, increasing the state's territory greatly by acquiring Siena. As time went on, Tuscany was reconstructed in a number of ways, not always positively.Tuscany became part of modern Italy in 1860.

Tuscany Government
The city of Tuscany major politics were formed by the center-left Democratic Party. Mainly Tuscany was divided into two administrative districts the former Republic of Siena, the old Republic of Florence and her dependencies. The two areas were organized by separate laws. The Tuscany Politics of Italy, takes place in the framework of a semi-presidential democracy, whereby the President of the Region is the head of government, and a multi-party system. The Italian Socialist Party is formed in the eastern and northern provinces of the region. The Italian Communist Party (PCI), was strong in rural areas after II World War. In the region Democratic Party IS the largest party. In Tuscany the Regional Council has 55 members. Using the largest remainder method with a Droop quota and open lists 34 councilors are elected, 20 councilors from a "regional list".

Tuscany economy is mainly based on agriculture, Industry, Tourism. In Tuscany the subsoil is comparably rich in mineral resources, with copper, mercury, iron ore and lignite mines. In Tuscany region areas cereals, olives, potatoes and grapes are grown up the swamplands now produce vegetables, beets, rice, sunflowers and tobacco. The industrial sector mainly based on the chemicals/pharmaceuticals, textiles, glass and ceramics, metalworking and steel, clothing and printing/publishing. In Tuscany and its towns and cities have grace landscapes. Tuscany also manufactures cotton, wool, silk, motor vehicles, refined petroleum and machinery. The economy mainly based on important industry is tourism.

Tuscany Geography
Tuscany is a region of central Italy. In Tuscany coastal areas climate is very mild. Tuscany is triangular in shape and located between the northern part of the Tyrrhenian Sea, with some islands Tuscan Archipelago, and the central Apennines. The temperature is variations between winter and summer. In Tuscany Spring and autumn seasons are very dry. January is the coldest month. The temperature in the mountains can obtain below freezing. From April to June and from September to October the weather is good. The weather is warm for beach visits in most of the country from June to September but during August weather is very warm.
