Fort Lauderdale is also known as the "Venice of America". It is a Florida's one of the city in United States. It is placed in the east-central portion of Broward County, Florida approximately 23 miles north of Miami and 42 miles south of Palm Beach. The City shares borders with nine other municipalities, in addition to unincorporated areas of the County. Surrounding more than 33 square miles, Fort Lauderdale is the seventh largest city in Florida and the largest of Broward County's 30 municipalities. The city of Ft Lauderdale has a population of 165,521 in 2010 estimation. The city is a popular tourist destination. The city is a mainly famous for its beaches and boats, and while the city of Fort Lauderdale is comparatively small in area, the term 'Fort Lauderdale' is often used to refer to the superior metropolis that has developed up around it. In 1911 the city of Fort Lauderdale was officially integrated as a town and became the seat of recently formed Broward County. The city has a congregation of family-friendly choices, such as Everglades Holiday Park and the Museum of Discovery and Science. More development came with founding of the Naval Air Station, which is now Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. Fort Lauderdale is the major of Broward County's 30 municipalities and the seventh largest city in the State of Florida. Once recognized firmly as a tourism-based economy, Fort Lauderdale now maintenances a diverse range of industries, including marine, manufacturing, finance, insurance, real estate, high technology, avionics/aerospace, film and television production.

Ft Lauderdale Area Education
The city public education is managed by the Broward County Public Schools. This is operates sixteen elementary schools, four middle schools, and three high schools within the city limits. Numerous schools exterior the city limits have attendance areas that include portions of the city of Fort Lauderdale. Boyd Anderson High School is placed in Lauderdale Lakes but whose attendance zone with part of Fort Lauderdale, also acknowledged a failing grade. More than 4000 years ago the city of Ft Lauderdale's history was started with the influx of the first indigenous natives, and later with the Tequesta Indians, who settled the area for more than a thousand years. The first settlement in the area was the site of butchery at the start of the Second Seminole War, an event which precipitated the leaving of the settlement and set back improvement in the area by over 50 years. The first United States ramparts named Fort Lauderdale was built in 1838, and afterward was a site of fighting through the Second Seminole War. Efforts for port growth alert approximately a shallow lake that was divided from the Atlantic Ocean by a low sand ridge. This body of water, known as Lake Mabel or Bay Mabel, was soon called Bay Mabel Harbor. Fort Lauderdale's first largest growth began in the 1920s, during the Florida land boom of the 1920s. When World War II began, Fort Lauderdale became a major US base, with a Naval Air Station to train pilots, radar operators, and fire control operators, and a Coast Guard base at Port Everglades was also recognized. The city of Ft Lauderdale was the founder and major developer of the City of Hollywood, Joseph Wesley Young, who, in the 1920s, played the most essential role in the eventual development of a deep harbor at Lake Mabel. Fort Lauderdale's first airport was devoted in 1929. The city improvement in the 1990s incorporated the 1991 opening of the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center at Northport. Currently the city of Fort Lauderdale is a major yachting center, one of the nation's largest tourist destinations, and the center of a metropolitan division with 1.8 million people.

Ft Lauderdale Area Government
Fort Lauderdale's government is a Commission-Manager form of government. Ft Lauderdale policy is set by a city commission of five elected members they are the mayor and four district commission members. The mayor of Fort Lauderdale at the present serves a three-year term and cannot serve more than three successive terms. Administrative functions are performed by a city manager, who is selected by the city commission. The United States Postal Service managed post offices in Fort Lauderdale.
