Minsk is one of the major cities in Belarus, and it is a capital city of Belarus. Minsk is located on the Svislac and Niamiha rivers. Minsk is the country's political, economic, scientific and cultural center in Belarus. And it is also the administrative center of Commonwealth of Independent States. The city is linked to the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea. Minsk is one of the busiest trade routes and it is a beautiful location on the banks of the river Svisloch. Minsk is one of the most economically developed cities in Belarus. Minsk region has a special administrative status and an administrative center in Belarus. After almost completely destroyed during World War II, Minsk was almost entirely rebuilt 1950 and 1960, the most advanced and modern Soviet city. Minsk is the best city in the former Soviet Union today's opinion. There are deserving wide streets, modern and ancient construction compounds, fountains, shady parks and green boulevards in the city.

Minsk city is a rich historical, moral, psychological heritage and it is a major cultural center of Belarus. Minsk region has several cultural attractions including 2 main theaters and 17 museums. Its first theaters and libraries were founded in the mid-19th century. Now it has 11 theaters and 16 museums and 139 libraries. Belarusian people has its roots deep in the past, re-marking of their original culture. There are number of architectures, museums, theaters and concert halls, cultural and educational institutions. There are many Museums, exhibitions, theaters, world famous Belarusian ballet, folk dance and singing performances, etc. - where the city of Minsk is a Belarusian cultural heritage. Belarusian theater dating is the best traditions and exciting innovations. Sports are playing a major role in the Minsk region. The city has Minsk stadium, athletic fields, swimming pools, sport centers and exercise rooms, tennis courts, sports centers, there are about 3,600, including a sky line.

Minsk City Education
Minsk is a major educational center of Belarus. It has about 500 kindergartens, 258 schools, 28 further education colleges, and 36 higher educational institutions, including 12 major national universities. Lyceums are the nation's leading academic institutions including high schools and colleges, which are concentrated in Minsk. There are number of key institutions in Minsk they are Belarus State University, Belarus State Medical University, Belarus State Economic University, Belarusian National Technical University, Belarusian State Technological University and Belarusian State Academy of Arts.

Minsk City History
East Slavs were the first settlers of the Minsk soil in the 9th century. They had migrated from south and pushed northwards past Balts. The Minsk first mention of the town was established in the year of 1067. Almost 200 years later, the town was ultimately joined the Union in the kingdom of Poland, which in 1242 became a part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Some historians may be established in Minsk in the 9th or early 10th century that was believed to have emerged from the village. This idea was supported by recent archaeological excavations. Minsk escaped the Mongol offensive of Rus in the period of 1237-1239. In 1242, the elaborate Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Minsk became a part of Belarus. In 1441, the Lithuanian prince Kazimierz IV Jagiellon in the list of cities enjoying authoritative privileges and Minsk in 1499, his son Aleksander Jagiellon powers under the Minsk received town under Magdeburg law. This time, the Russians had already left for the Imperial Russian Belarusian lands, Poland, under the division of dissolved Polish - Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1795, the success of such former Rus' lands were returned to the efforts. During the 19th century the city maintains to grow and representative improves. In 1830 the main streets and squares of Minsk were cobbled and paved. The first public library was opened in 1836, and a fire brigade was companion into force in 1837. In the starting years of the 20th century Minsk is a major hub in Belarus. In the year of 1919 January the city of Minsk was demonstrate the capital of Byelorussian SSR. Minsk during Operation Bagration, the return of Soviet troops on 3rd July 1944. Minsk is the country of which it was severely damaged in 1986, near the top of the nuclear fallout from Chernobyl. USSR was finally changing its name to the Republic of Belarus in 1991.

Minsk City Geography
Lukomskaye in the northwest lake of the Belarus - Minsk Hills is a region of rolling hills running from southwest to northeast in the south-eastern descent.
