Armenia is formally known as Republic of Armenia. It is originated in the southern Caucasus. Armenia is the smallest country of the former Soviet republics. It is a landlocked country. The country bordered by Georgia on the north, Azerbaijan on the east, Iran on the south, and Turkey on the west. Armenia's capital is Yerevan and it is a largest and oldest city in Armenia. The country official language is Armenian and Armenian currency is Dram. Armenia country is a past republic of the Soviet Union and it has unitary, multiparty, democratic nation-state with an early and historic cultural heritage. The country was the first state to accept Christianity as its religion in the early years of the 4th century. It is an olden Christian kingdom with its own unique language, alphabet and culture. Armenia Education

The Armenia has advanced education system consists of various levels of education in order to facilitate education in all levels of people. The public education system consists of four levels usually referred as grades of schooling such as preprimary, primary, intermediate and senior education. The preprimary education starts at the age of three and ends with six years, primary education consists of grades from one to three, intermediate from four to eight and finally senior education from grades nine and ten. The public education is free of cost and compulsory for children up to 16 years age. The remaining education consists of three levels grouped in general education. In earlier days of education teaching was in Armenian language after that it was replaced with Russian. The school system is divided into semesters and quarters and the academic year starts in September and is continued for 30 weeks interval to first grade and remaining all grades have 34 weeks school. The basic subjects in the education system are literature, physics and maths in all grades. The natural sciences like biology, chemistry and physics are started in grade 4 and social sciences like geography, economics, history and law are started from grade 5. The music, fine arts and drawing are started in fifth grade and continued all over the schooling. So many universities offer several courses in general education.

Armenia History

The Armenia has a long history of about 3000s BC. The present Armenia covers only the northeastern region which is historically restrain by the Armenians and whose forefathers are settled in Mount Ararat area present it is the part of Turkey. At the time of beginning of 1st century BC, the Armenian king Tigranes formed an empire that stretched over the areas from the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean Sea with the sections of Georgia and Syria. At the end of 1st century this Tigranes was under the Roman Empire, at that time Armenia formed as a buffer zone and often a battleground region against the Parthians ruled the Persian region. The Sassanids occupied this Armenia in earlier days but the Roman Empire obtain the control of Armenia after the 3rd century and then the Arsacids got the power and crowning Tiridates III as the king of Armenia. The Tiridates change his religion into Christianity in the early 4th century and design a state church all these things make Armenia as the first state to officially adopt the Christianity. The Armenia is divided into two regions by the Byzantine and Persian empires at the time of late 4th century but Armenia came under the Byzantine rule in the early 7th century. The Byzantine Empire surrendered Armenia to the Arabs in 653. At the time of 806 the Arabs forms a governors of Armenia. The Byzantine Empire under Basil II ruled this country from 976 to 1025 after the short period of this ruling Armenia was controlled by the Turkish till 1071. In 13th century Armenia felt into the Mongols who rule this region until the early 15th century. In 16th century the Ottoman Empire to overcome the most of Armenia region and some part of Iran continued to hold some Armenian lands and those are ruled this country in several centuries.

Armenia Government

The government of Armenia takes place in a structure of a presidential evocative democratic republic with President is the head of government and of a multi-party system. The government regulated issues are categorized into 3 sectors named as Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches. The Executive power is regulated by the government with the combination of council of ministers and the legislative power is controlled over the both government and parliament. The parliament is a unicameral system and is a combination of four political parties such as conservative Republican party, the Prosperous Armenia party, the Rule of Law party and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. The aim of Armenia government is to create Western-style democratic parliament. Every person has 18 and beyond that age had a chance to vote their leader selection. The president is the head of the state and is elected to serve seven years term by the selection of Great National Assembly and is not a part of parliament. The prime minister is elected by the parliament with voting system. The Legislative power is held in Grand National Assembly of Turkey consists of 550-seat representing total 81 provinces and the members are elected by the direct voting mechanism in order to serve 5 years period. The judiciary is an independent sector ruled based on the constitution and was adopted on 12 September 2010.

Armenia Geography

The Armenia is originated in Southwestern Asia region with the geographic boundaries of 40 00 N and 45 00 E and the map represents this landlocked country is located in Asia region. The total area occupied by this country is 29,800 sq km in which the most of the part nearly 28,400 sq km is land area and the remaining 1,400 sq km area is filled with water region. The bordered countries of Armenia are Turkey with 268 km east, Iran, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Due to the highland region usually the weather is cool in winter season and hot in summer. Most of the Armenia is filled with mountains and some small amount of forest area with frequent flowing rivers. This region consists of good soil in river valleys. The Debed River 400 m low and Aragats Lerrnagagat' 4,090 m high are the elevation boundaries of this country. The metals such as copper, zinc, alumina, molybdenum and little amounts of gold are the natural resources of this country. The total cultivated land is 2,870 sq km. Because of the mountain regions severe earthquakes are some times happened here. In present Armenia have some general problems regarding to the health and wealth and try to solve the issues by conducting meetings to other neighborhood countries and those are soil pollution from chemicals such as DDT, threatens drinking water supplies and restart of Metsamor nuclear power plant for sufficient power deposits.

Armenia Parks

The Armenia has two national parks provide so many recreational activities to the visitors and these parks are usually referred as nature reserve things. The Dilijan National Park is the famous park located in Tavush having an area of 24,000 ha. This park hosts so many attractions including forest region, rich biodiversity, water springs and cultural monuments. In present this park is under development in the aspects of border areas, recreational things and buffer zones. This park is located around the mountain regions with 1070-2300 m of altitude above sea level. Even though Armenia is a landlocked country it has a "blue pearl" nothing but the majestic Lake Sevan and is the famous national park. This is the one and only natural reservoir in Armenia and is popular as the biggest and highest fresh water lakes in the world. This lake stretches its waters along the Geghama Mountain bordered by the chain of mountain such as Sevan, Vardenis and Areguni. The Hrazdan River is flow through this lake and total 28 rivers are flow through this lake Sevan. In 1978 it was declared as a national park in order to protect the fresh water deposits, fishes and birds and to protect historical monuments as well as in order to increase the tourism and recreational spots. This park is the combination several strict reserves and reservations. The Norashen Reserve was located in this park in order to protect the breeding ground of Armenian Gulls.

Armenia Economy

The Armenia has good economy in recent years by the privatization of some small and medium level industrial areas. The economic structure of this country is divided into three sectors such as agriculture nearly 38%, the second major thing is industrial areas produce about 32% and remaining 30% is gained from service areas. This country has total 1.6 million labor source at all sectors. The annual income of this country is $322 million and the expenditures are $424 million. This country has some small industries such as metal cutting machines, electric motor tires and silk fabrics. The grapes and vegetables are the major cultivated agricultural products. The Armenia exports some frequently available products such as gold, transportation material and scrap metals to Iran, Russia and Georgia. In the same manner it imports several products like grain and some fuels from Iran, Russia, Turkmenistan and US. This country has $820 million external debt. The dram is the currency used by this country people and the exchange rates are dram is equal to US$1 499.89. So this country economy is greatly based on the agriculture as well as several industrial areas.
