Jamaica Estates Overview
Jamaica Estates  located  adjacent to Jamaica, was named by the development company who originally planned to develop the land. In the early days of Queens, Jamaica became the center of operations, and wealthy people from the Manhattan sought out acreage for country homes. Since Jamaica provide easy access back to Manhattan these people bought the land here and called it Jamaica Estates. These land owners build large, exclusive, separate standing homes, and looking to create a community of wealthy, professional  people.

Jamaica Estates Residents & Culture
Jamaica Estates was originally settled by eastward moving "Manhattanites". Today, this area is home to many professional people with suburban families values.

Jamaica Estates mostly consist of large separate standing homes. General rents in the area hard to pin point as the rentals are mostly apartments or carriage houses with in the larger homes. The market price ranges on these from $900-$3000, depending on square footage and amount of bedrooms.

Jamaica Estates Transportation & Commuting
Most commuting is done via the New York City Subway, by the E,F,J, & Z  trains which can be caught in nearby Jamaica, getting on these trains can have in midtown in 30 minutes and downtown in 40 minutes.
