Elmhurst began as a home to early resident’s of Manhattan who moved east to
gain a more suburb feel of living. Today it continually is a place of
affordable rents, for people who are looking to live just outside the
Manhattan. Elmhurst is a middle working class neighborhood which has
culturally diverse population. Elmhurst is home to the Queens Center
shopping mall which contains more than 75 stores.
