I recently had to move out to a separate 1-bedroom apartment elsewhere due to some personal health reasons, and Im looking to sublease the room I was staying in. Youre renting the room itself, strictly speaking - the apartment complex was sold to new owners last year, and the lease I signed with the previous owners was for renting the room, not the whole apartment. However, my knowledge is that when this lease is up, any new leases will be switching to renting the apartment as a whole, with rent shared between roommates. Up to 2 cats are allowed, or a small dog, but the room itself is pretty small and I wouldnt recommend bringing a pet that requires much space for that reason. The room comes furnished with a bed, dresser and a pretty wide desk. The bathroom is shared with one other roommate in the hallway. I liked the location, since its fairly quiet and rural but with close proximity to restaurants, shopping centers, and even an IMAX movie theater right around the corner ($5 movies on Tuesdays!). Parking is free and open - I never had to fight for a space (which is more than I can say for some of my previous apartments). The apartment complex features an outdoor swimming pool and a gym. The current tenants there are generally quiet and easy to get along with - just remember to respect their space and privacy too! The room and apartment tend to be pretty well insulated from cold, heat and outside noise with effective central heating and cooling. The unit features a washer and dryer, dishwasher, and a small outdoor third-floor patio, and the living room is furnished with tables and sofas. It is, all in all, nothing too large or fancy, but if you just need a small, simple setup, its very affordable with a solid location (the aforementioned theater was always a big hit), a shuttle straight to campus, and some free recreational activities like the pool and gym. It was originally a student apartment before the new owners took over, so if you are one such student, this could be a neat little setup since it was designed to accommodate students.
